There will be a Basic and Advanced Skywarn Class held at the Sloop Point Fire Department in Hampstead NC on Saturday Feb 11, 2017. The Basic class will begin at 830 AM, and the Advanced class with begin at 930 AM. No registration is required and the training is free. Please help me share that we had to unfortunately cancel the upcoming Skywarn and Weather Safety training in Surf City this Saturday May 9th. We will reschedule based on the proximity of the coastal low and potential for flooding and isolated tornadoes. Once I can coordinate a new date I will post the info here and on the ILM Skywarn website. Thanks, -Steve

There will be a few Basic Skywarn classes held this spring. On Saturday May 9th there will be a class from 0830a to 10a in Surf City. The logistics for another class is being worked on for Myrtle Beach and Ocean Isle Beach later this Spring. Otherwise, we have had a quiet start to our severe weather season, but conditions can change quickly as we transition to warmer weather in April and May. The peak of our severe hail season is in May, while our peak microburst season runs from the end of June into the first half of July. 

 There will be a Basic Skywarn class on Thursday August 21st at 6 PM in Kingstree SC. The training will be held at: 2086 Thurgood Marshall Hwy, Kingstree, SC 29556, USA.
